Christmas in November
Though it is now, December, and time for people to start feeling the love for Christmas, people have been in the Christmas spirit for quite a few weeks, now. Though I'm only eighteen, I still remember that when I was younger, that Christmas music didn’t start until after Thanksgiving, usually not until December started. The Christmas decorations didn’t go up in the town until then either. But this year, which upset me very much, the Christmas decorations in the towns went up before thanksgiving and the Christmas music started before Thanksgiving, as well. I was flipping through the radio a few days before Thanksgiving and I stopped on 102.5 and I heard Christmas music playing. I don’t understand it. Christmas is such a wonderful time of the year, and people are already excited for it to come before they start playing the music. But then, when they start all of these Christmas traditions early, people start getting excited for the holiday before the holiday prior to Christmas is even over. After being excited for Christmas before Thanksgiving, by the time that Christmas is here, people are tired o fit and the joy and excitement of the holiday is already gone, and some people are ready for it to be over. And this, is a darn shame since Christmas is the most wonderful holiday ever.

hunting
So shotgun season is coming up pretty soon and I am totally completely excited. This is about the only thing that my dad and I do together. I just started hunting last year, and I shot a doe, but this year I am so ready to get out there and get a nice buck. My dad has these trail cameras all over our land that we hunt and we have seen quite a few nice bucks on the cameras. Last year we had a really nice 8 pointer about 35 yards away on opening day, but I didn’t want to shoot it because I knew that if it survived through the year, this year it would be even bigger. Coincidentally, it lived and we have seen it on our cameras. My dad says women are better hunters, and I am a really good one, this was obvious to me, because women are better at everything. But anyways, this year I know that there are nice bucks out there and I know their patterns and I know where they stay, and when they are at certain areas on our land. This year I really hope I get a chance to get a deer, though any size buck would be a descent one for a first buck, I want to get a nice one.

I can dance with the stars, too
Today I went to Wal-Mart, after our GREAT English 101 teacher let us out of class early. I had to spend forever looking through the movie section, in attempt to find some kind of dance workout video. After searching through the whole three isles of movies, i did what Wal-Mart is known for, and I asked for assistance. The lady who helped me had no idea where the videos were either, but she decided to ask another worker where they were. We wound up in the sporting goods section, and there they were, by the big exercise balls and yoga mats. I decided to get two of them, one of them was Dancing with the stars: dance off the pounds, and the other one was 10 minute solution: hip hop dance mix. I went home and started with the dancing with the stars DVD, since it is more known. It ends up that the DVD was teaching me swing and things of the sort. I turned it off and put in the other one. I t was crazy how easy it was to learn some hip hop n\dance moves, and it only took ten minutes. By the end of the 10 minutes my heart was pounding and i was glistening with sweat. The purpose of this is to tell you that dancing is a GREAT way to burn calories and get in shape.

Boneisms
I went to Smokey Bones for the first time last night, after the going to St. Louis for the Rams game. While I was at Smokey Bones, I couldn't help looking around at the various posters on the wall. These posters contained Boneisms, of which were little funny sayings and phrases. The waiters and waitresses even had clever little phrases on the backs of them. The one that got my attention was on the back of our waitress's shirt, and it said, "A nice dry rub enhances our meat. stop laughing." and I about died when I saw this. There were other Boneisms around the restaurant including:
1) Never call your server “Hun,” “Sweetie” or “Hey You.” Unless, of course, that is their name.
2) Dogs? Please. Burgers are a manʼs best friend.
3) Youʼre supposed to drink 8-10 glasses of water a day. Beer is 90% water. How sweet is that.
4) Watching what you eat is a great way to not miss your mouth.
5) Beer before Liquor, never sicker. Liquor before beer, in the clear. Bones wings in between, more power for the machine.
6) Fire. The greatest invention of humankind. Beer. A close second.
7) People think the wheel was the greatest invention of humankind. But a wheel canʼt cook a steak.
8) Without fire, humans wouldnʼt exist. Without fire-grilling, flavor wouldnʼt exist.
9) If the musicʼs too loud, talk louder.
I read these and as soon as i thought they were funny, I looked around the whole restaurant for more. There were even some in the bathroom... but they were just as clever.

Do People Really Sing These Kind of Songs?
I was talking to my dad last night and we were talking about all kinds of music. We talked about the different genres and how some of it people listen to, and how they listen to it. Well my father brought up Ray Stevens, who he thinks is funny. I got on my computer, pulled up YouTube and found some of his videos. He is actually the person who originally made the Purple People Eater song and the Witchdoctor who we all know from the Alvin and the Chipmunks movie or just from hearing it in the past. Well among all of the songs I heard, this one caught me by surprise, it was very funny but odd at the same time. I just want to know what was in this man's mind when he wrote these songs. Like I wonder if these have been real experiences or if he just thought it up. Also, do people really listen to these songs other than just for a laugh? Like, do people have songs like this on their iPods and jam out to them in the car or while they run? I don’t know... But if they do, I mean, its them and that must just be how they roll.

Good Ole Abe
Today I was just sitting in my room, readint the Brian story from our In Fact book. Though it was so super interesting and way fun to read, somehow my mind began to wander. I soon zoned out of the story and stared out of my window, thinking, just thinking. Lost in my own thoughts... For some random reason an Abraham Lincoln quote popped into my head, "Whatever you are, be a good one" is the quote. I started thinking about this quote and what exactly it meant. whatever you are... be a good one? Ummm.. okay, that is a kind of dumb thing to say, but as I thought on it deeper, i figured it out. "Whatever you are"... so no matter what job or field you chose, wether you become president, are a butcher, a plumber, an actor/actress, a waiter/waitress, or are the person who sucks out the porta potties at fairs.. it doesn't matter. "...be a good one"... this pretty much means to do yoyr best, obviously. so all in all the quote, "Whatever you are, be a good one" means that whatevr you are, whoever you are, from very important to only known by your family, be good at it. Be your best you, that is all one can really ask, you know? I mean, I think Lincoln had it right when he said that, because it doesn't matter what you are as long as you do it with all of your will and use all of your power and might to be good at it. Do something you like, and you are bound to be better at it.
